What it is
A full app, not a companion app
Most software in this category gives a technician a screen to clock on and off and calls that a mobile app. This one runs the front end of the business. Booking diary, job cards, inspections, parts, invoices and payments, on iPhone and Android, on the same live data as the desk rather than a copy of it.
It is included in the subscription and it is never billed per licence. Put every technician on it, not just the ones with a seat at a desk. There is no separate charge and no module to buy. Search for Workshop Software on the App Store or Google Play and sign in with the same details.
Why it matters in a dealership
Your stock is outside
- A trade-in gets photographed where it stands and the photos land on the unit record.
- A technician starts and stops the job at the machine, not at a terminal by the door.
- An inspection is completed on the phone and sent from there, instead of being transcribed off a clipboard.
- A part is searched, scanned and added while you are still standing next to the unit.
- An invoice is raised and paid at the handover, not written up later from memory.
What you can do with it
All of this is in the app
Booking diary
See the diary by month, by day or as a list, and filter it to one technician. Add a booking, change a booking, search for one. The front counter runs from a phone.
Job cards, properly
Open a job and see the overview, the unit, the customer and the status. Change the status and it updates on the desk. Edit the description, the odometer and the notes at the moment you find the problem, not two hours later.
Clocking that survives a real workshop
Start and stop from the job itself. More than one technician can clock onto the same job and the total time adds up. Where a job has several labour lines, each person picks the line they are actually on and can leave a note against the time.
Photos, video and a signature
Attach photos and video to the job or the inspection, mark up a photo to show the customer exactly what you are looking at, and take an electronic signature on the job card to authorise the work.
Inspections
Run your own inspection templates on the phone. Start one, attach photos, add notes, read the history and push it back onto the job card. Inspections in progress have their own tab, so nothing sits half finished.
Parts, with a scanner
Search stock and scan a barcode with the phone camera to pull the product straight up. Technicians can add and edit products too, if you allow it.
Invoice and take the money
Create an invoice from the job screen, create the customer and the unit inside the app if they are new, process the payment, email the invoice, and look back at closed invoices from the same search.
History at the machine
Look back at what this unit has had done and what was invoiced last time, from inside the current job card, without ringing the office to ask.
Call, message and navigate
Ring or text the customer from the job, and tap their address to open it in maps. Built for the person doing mobile and off site work as well as the one in the bay.
Talk instead of type
Dictate a note straight onto the job rather than thumbing it in with dirty hands. It is the difference between a note that gets written and one that does not.
Push notifications
Told on your phone when a booking request arrives or a job is assigned to you, rather than finding out next time somebody opens the diary.
Technical data at the job
Engine specifications, lubricants and fluids, brake data, transmission diagrams and identification locations, from inside the job card instead of a second system. WorkshopData is a paid add-on.
One set of records, not two
What happens on the phone is on the desk the moment it happens, and the other way round. Nothing is exported, nothing is re-keyed at the counter at the end of the day, and nobody argues about which version is right.
You decide what each person sees
Per technician settings control whether they can edit products, whether they see pricing, and how much customer detail they get. Somebody can be given the job without being given your customer list.

Mobile app in the product
Recorded in Workshop Software. DealershipSoft is the same platform with unit sales added, so this works the same way.
Give it two weeks. We'll help you get set up.
There's nothing complicated about getting started, and you won't be doing it alone. We'll show you how to set it up around the way your dealership already runs, then stay in touch while you find your feet.
