What you can do with it

Parts is where a dealership quietly loses money, usually to stock nobody can find and stock nobody needed.

• Min and max levels per part, so reordering is a decision the system prompts rather than one somebody remembers.
• Stocktake without closing the doors, and filter a stocktake by location so a big parts department can be counted in sections.
• Costs held against the part, so the margin on a job is real rather than assumed.
• Supplier codes mapped to your part numbers where the supplier publishes them.
• Kits and common part groups for the jobs you do over and over.
• Parts sold over the counter and parts consumed on a job come out of the same stock file.
• Accessories go on a unit deal as parts, and a second unit can go on the same invoice as its own unit.
• Non stock and miscellaneous items handled without polluting the stock file.

The dealer specific point is that a deal is not limited to one unit. Sell several units on the one invoice, each keeping its own serial and service record, with accessories going on as parts.
